Graduate level course in concept-based inquiry with a focus on standards-based, student-centered learning in the PK-12 music classroom.

Course Goals:

Gain an understanding of the characteristics of concept-based teaching and learning.
Learn a process-based approach to inquiry, as outlined by Concept-Based Curriculum and Instruction.
Apply the inquiry process to music learning and teaching
Create a unit outline that demonstrates understanding of the inquiry process and its application to the teacher’s classroom
Outline possible accommodations for a unit’s implementation for in-person teaching and online teaching
Document the above learning into a completed unit plan
